I need to...

What is a Base Point?

What is a Base Point?

At My Local Mover we start your move from your choice of Base Points.

These are suburbs within the Brisbane and surrounding areas that effectively become our depot or rather, the Base Point from which your Depot to Depot rate is charged.

For example, if you're moving from Sunnybank Hills to Runcorn, our closest Base Point would currently be located at Acacia Ridge. The Depot to Depot rate would then apply for us to travel from Acacia Ridge to Sunnybank Hills, then again from Runcorn back to our Base Point at Acacia Ridge.

Moving from Wynnum to Manly? Our depot at Hemmant would be your Base Point so the hourly rate would start from when the removal truck leaves Hemmant to when it returns.

Moving from Petrie to Sandgate? We can start our Depot to Depot charges from Strathpine.

What if your suburb is the same as our Base Point? Travel time to drive the truck within the suburb will still occur so there will be a minimum travel time charge of 15 minutes for traveling to or from any residence located in the same surburb.

Why do we do this? We are honest - we only have one main depot. Having multiple depots all over Brisbane would be cost prohibitive and  ultimately the price of our moves would increase to cover costs. My Local Mover is being honest in telling you that our Base Points are not depots. By creating Base Points within Brisbane, we are providing you with a cost effective solution to the Depot to Depot charge, and remaining competitive within the Brisbane Furniture Removal market.

If you are ever unsure about the travel time you have been charged for, we can offer you a GPS report showing the travel times, and in the event of any discrepancy, will use the Google Maps as our accepted travel time.

Currently our Base Points are located at:

  • South Brisbane
  • Hemmant
  • Acacia Ridge
  • Daisy Hill
  • Capalaba
  • The Gap
  • Kenmore
  • Chermside
  • Strathpine
  • Brassall
